Currently working on my Penelope's Garden Series (I
am having a ball painting scenes from this Garden. Very inspired
by my
Mom's garden in Victoria) and
Pirate's Cove Series.
I stopped working on a painting
of the Chemainus Theatre and are working on a painting called
Old Growth as well as a painting dedicated to the Firefighters
in Kelowna, BC
In 2004 I will be painting a series of Mayan images
based on the Dresden Codex. More to come on this topic.

May
2004 Update:
Completed "Snow Dreams", a watercolor original being donated
to the Ronald McDonald House charity auction ( Nov 2004 ). This
painting portrays the incredible amount
of snow in the Rockies and the opportunity for our youth to discover
the beauty that winter snow can bring while under the protective
gaze of the majesty of the Rockies. More details to
come.
Sales on prints have been very good and I am very pleased with the incredible
support I have received. Also in the news, I am working on a winter
scene for Ronald MacDonald House (for their gala Auction in November
as well as Christmas Cards). It's tentatively called Snow Dreams
and will be completed at the end of May.

We still have a few originals left but these are
very much in demand. Call for availability. Work on
the 4th painting in my Penelope's Garden Series is coming along
well.This painting is 22" x
30" and
is being documented with my digital camera to show the various
stages I go through. Check out my Gallery and Recent
Work pages. I also updated my Artist
Statement and biography.
As an avid reader, I also have listed full descriptions of what I feel
are the best Watercolor books on the market.
These can be reviewed and then purchased via our online store.
This site also provides a gallery of my paintings, recent
work, tools
used and my
journey from
dreamer to watercolor artist. My favorites
sites page displays sites of other artists I admire and sites I
frequent. One of my goals is to make this a site that new watercolor
artists like myself can stop by for updates and information. My
success with this interest has been largely dependent on the support
I have received from family and fellow artists.
This site is updated 3-4 times a month. I expect to display some
demo's and details on how I paint and stories behind the work that
I paint. Enjoy!

Recently donated the "Hidden Moments" painting to the
Dawson Creek Hospital Foundation. This painting was
the grand prize in the Secretaries Luncheon.
The Grand Prize Winner was Susan Arseniuk. Framing and mats donated
by Picture It.
Gordon F. Currie is a supporting member of the Federation
of Canadian Artists and a member of the South Peace Arts Council."
