What is a Giclée print?
Giclée is a French word meaning
the spraying of ink. It is this spraying of ink, under
extremely controlled color management, that allows the
print maker to capture the essence of the original.
Giclée prints are printed with high-saturation,
museum quality inks and special paper (tested to
last over 150 years). The image is
produced as millions
of extremely small drops of ink are sprayed onto the
paper.
Digital technology allows the highest quality Giclée
begins with the Printmaker. One can expect a 90% color
accuracy and depth compared with 50%-60% from traditional
methods
of printing.
Giclée printers have the
ability to print a wider range of colors and tones
because of their six color inkjet system which can
print
at a resolution of 1440 dpi.
